Bandits Set Family Ablaze, Kill 35 In Fresh Plateau Attack
Report has it that the Plateau State has yet recorded another worrisome attack as bandits reportedly stormed a community on Wednesday morning and killed no fewer than 35 residents.
Plateau State Police Commissioner, Ubah Ogaba, who was immediately reached by newsmen in an attempt to confirm the disturbing incident, said he is yet to receive much details about the attack though he confirmed there was an incident.
Ogaba, however, promised to give details later.
”There was an incident at Yelwa but I have not received full details yet,” Ogaba told Daily Post.
It was gathered in the reports made available that the bandits attacked Yelwa Sangam, a community in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau, and burned some family members alive and shot at others.
They were said to have disabled the bridge leading to the community, preventing any access to help before launching their assault.
This is coming not long after the Federal Government distanced itself from a comment by Katsina State Governor, Aminu Bello Masari.
Masari had told residents of the state to resolve to self-defence. The governor said this while reacting to incessant attacks on citizens of the state by criminal elements.
