FORMER ANAMBRA CHILD BRIDE RETRIEVED FROM FORCED MARRIAGE TO 56-YEAR-OLD MAN
Nigerian entrepreneur, Vivian Queenstine Diora, shared a video earlier this year, stating that chinwendu a 15yr old girl was forcefully married to a 56yr old man identified as Izuchukwu Igwilo of the popular and wealthy Igwilo family of Anambra State.
The 15yr old girl Miss Chinwendu, whose story went viral around January has now been fully retrived from the 56yr old man by the Human right Activist “Gwamnishu Emefiena Harrison“.
Chinwe never consented to the marriage, she was forced by her family members. Allegedly, the plan with the Igwilo family was also for Izuchukwu’s brothers to raise any children Chinwe bore him due to his many inadequacies.
Harrison took it upon himself to bear the costs of the rescue; paid costs to see Chinwe’s parents and assured them that Chinwe will be taken care of.
According Activist Harrison, he was able to rescue chinwedu with the support of the Barr. Ajuebor Favour , Anwulika E. Udanoh Efficient Grace Ume and the women affairs Commissioner of Anambra State.
Furthermore, GoldenNewsNg gathers that Chinwedu has been rehabilitated, trained in tailoring and empowered with other 100 Ndi Anambra by Industrial Training Fund, ITF.
Chinwendu was accompanied by the Honorable Commissioner, her elderly father and some staff of the ministry of women and children affairs to the school where she will continue with her education. Congrats to chinwendu.
