The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has so far captured over 70 million Nigerians in the National Identity Data Base (NIDB).
It was done without getting additional 1kobo from the Federal Government, the Minister of Communication and Digital Economy, Dr Is Pantami, has said.
Speaking in Abuja during the opening of the auction of 3.5Ghz spectrum designed to roll out 5G services in the country next year, he said identity is crucial to national security, which the technology will facilitate.
