Details Of Buhari’s Meeting With APC Governors Emerges
The details of the meeting between President Muhammadu Buhari and Governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have emerged.
President met with the governors at the Presidential Villa ahead of the APC’s national convention slated for Saturday, March 26.
The governors were led to the meeting by the Chairman of the Caretaker Committee of the party and the Governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni.
Speaking with State House correspondents after the meeting, Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF) and Kebbi State Governor, Atiku Bagudu, said the preparation for the convention is in top gear.
He said the governors would support any chairmanship candidate President Buhari supports at the much-anticipated event.
Bagudu added that the governors would support any process that would lead to a consensus in choosing the party officials.
Meanwhile, Buni has denied reports of renewed differences among governors elected on the platform of the party.
According to Buni, the Progressives Governors Forum are at peace following the directive of President Buhari.
Buni in a statement released through his spokesman on Wednesday, Mamman Mohammed, accused some people of trying to cause a rift among chieftains of the party.
He further stated that this person have plans to ignite an unsolicited crisis, just a few days before the party’s national convention.
