Popular Imam suspended for criticising Buhari over train bombing
GoldenNewsNg report that the Chief Imam of Apo Juma’at Mosque in Abuja, Sheikh Nuru Khalid, has been suspended by the mosque’s Steering Committee for criticising President Muhammadu Buhari over the bombing of a Kaduna-bound train from Abuja.

The Chief Imam had in his Friday sermon criticised Buhari for failure to visit Kaduna over the terrorist attack on Monday.
Khalid said condemning the attack via a statement by the President’s Media Office was not enough.
He argued that if Buhari could visit Kaduna to campaign, then he should do the same over the incident
He said: “Everyone condemned the incident, except the bandits
So condemnation is not enough.
“The President should visit the state to sympathise with the victims.
“The President has been to Kaduna for campaigns but couldn’t go to the state on a sympathy visit.”
The Chairman of the mosque’s Steering Committee, Sai’du Dansadau, however, said the Imam was sacked for an inciting sermon on April 1

He explained that the Imam had preached against exercising civic duty by advising voters to give conditions to political leaders before electing them.
Dansadau added that the sermon was against Islamic tenets.
