Sassa Grant Payments For August Begins Today 2nd August 2022

sassa grant news – Sassa recently made changes to their monthly grant payment schedule. Today marks the second day of the month which means that Sassa grant payments have officially begun.

In April, Sassa announced that they would now start paying permanent Sassa grants from the second day of every month instead of on the first Wednesday of a month.

With this in mind, Sassa has commenced with grant payments for August on Tuesday, 2 August. Here’s the month’s schedule for Sassa grants:

Older person’s grant: 2 August

  • This includes any grants linked to this account

Disability grant: 3 August

  • This includes any grants linked to this account

Rest of the Sassa grants: 4 August

However, the payment dates above do not include R350 grant payments as there are no fixed payment dates for that grant. Beneficiaries should check the Sassa SRD website or wait for an SMS to know when to collect their grant money.

You can collect Sassa grants at Shoprite, USave, Checkers, Boxer and PickNPay stores and you should bring your ID along with you when you do. Beneficiaries can also use their Sassa gold card at bank ATMs.

Unfortunately, Sassa beneficiaries can no longer collect their grants at Post Offices and are urged to collect at alternative points.

Sassa has made the following clear to beneficiaries, “there is no need to rush to withdraw cash on the first day” and continued to say that once the money is in the account, it will remain there until it is needed.

Sassa advises beneficiaries to be cautious and vigilant when using their PINs and not to share their PINs with anybody, not even family members. This is as perpetrators are always looking to take advantage of vulnerable individuals.
