It seems that popular Nigerian Singer Zlatan Ibile is not happy with his fans. On Sunday the rising star took to Instagram to berate many of his fans for not downloading his song “Road to CDK”. The singer is very popular among the middle class because of the notion that he rose from grass to grace.
His fans are even quick to tell the story of how he hustled in Lagos state Nigeria before making it to where he is now.
Little wonder Zlatan was not berated for not doing give always during the coronavirus lockdown. Since he released the song ” Road to CDK” he has been making frequent posts about it on social media thinking that his fans will do the needful. But unlike many other celebrity musicians like Simi or Tiwa Savage whose songs gets millions of download within days of release, Zlatan is not happy with the few downloads that he got.
He is trusting that his fans will show their loyalty and support to him by downloading his song. It is a difficult period for musicians because they cannot have shows like they use to.
Zlatan will rather loose his large Instagram followers that keep them when they are not supporting him. That is why he asked those fans that are yet to download “Road to CDK” to unfollow him.
However, Zlatans case is very different from that of Davido who unfollowed his wife, friends and even his daughter over some personal feuds. Zlatan wats only committed fans that will help his musical career grow especially in this difficult period.
There is uncertainty in the creative industry because of the damage that the corona virus have done to the industry. Therefore no musician at this point can afford to keep dormant fans who do not seem excited by their efforts.
