1. President, Muhammadu Buhari, on Friday, laid the 2023 Appropriation Bill before a joint session of the National Assembly. 2. The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Senator Iyorchia Ayu, on Friday, broke his silence on the controversies surrounding the return of over N100m housing allowance to the party’s coffers by some National Working Committee members. He said the NWC unanimously agreed on the allowance and that reports that the money was a bribe or an illegal payment as being alleged by some persons were false.
3. The Nigeria Customs Service, Ogun 1 Area Command, has impounded 23 trailers, including Dangote trucks allegedly loaded with foreign rice, hidden within bags of cement. The company in a statement by its Group Managing Director, Michel Pucheros, said that the invasion was carried out by armed vigilantes, led by some officials of the state government.
