The Second Niger Bridge’s opening date has been set by the Federal Government.
Goldennewsng reports that the brand-new Second Niger Bridge, as stated by Mr. Jimoh Olawale, Delta’s Federal Controller of Works, will open to traffic on December 15.
Olawale, who talked in a meeting with the News Organization of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday in Asaba, notwithstanding, said that the extension would be opened for just 30 days.
He claims that Babatunde Fashola, the Minister of Works, directed the opening of the bridge, which is currently at 95% completion, to ease traffic during Yule.
“As we are aware, traffic jams make it difficult for commuters to access the old Niger Bridge during the Christmas celebration; however, this arrangement will alleviate traffic congestion on the Asaba-Benin Expressway.
We have communicated this arrangement to the state government and are collaborating with the Federal Roads Safety Corps to ensure that vehicles move without a hitch.
