While presenting the items on behalf of the Market to Market for Bago in Gulu-Vatsa in Lapai LGA, a Chief of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Honourable Jonathan Vatsa said the gesture was borne out of support for women and youths in the State.

According to him “for now, we are reaching out to all the widows especially those with handwork and petty traders in Lapai local government area. We have widows of kidnapped victims who were slaughtered. Most of them have learnt and now know how to sew.

“Ever since the banditry attack, these women have been left to fate as their breadwinners have been sent to their early graves. One of the victims left four wives.

“The other one is a Mangu man from Plateau State who planned to marry this December but was slaughtered to pieces by these evildoers.”

He added that, “we are also empowering our youths with sets of jersey and footballs for recreational purposes and to get them engaged for competitions and to get them off illicit drugs and illegal vices.”

One of the beneficiaries Fatima Mohammed who was abducted by the Bandits appreciated the gestures adding that “if every politician does what Vatsa and Bago are doing there won’t be any poor person in our communities. Vatsa is the only one who comes to our aid whether it is politics, campaign period or not.”

While appreciating the Market to Market for Bago group led by Vatsa, the Women leader of the LGA, Rahmatu Aliyu assured them of judicious use of the items.
