Ondo State Governor Rotimi Akeredolu has stated that it would be difficult to rig the 2023 elections, which are less than two months away.

Goldennewsng reports that Akeredolu, rigging would be difficult following the implementation of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System, or BVAS.

When he received Rufus Akeju, the state’s retiring Resident Electoral Commissioner, he spoke in his office.

The Governor hailed the implementation of BVAS as a welcome improvement to Nigeria’s electoral system.

Akeredolu praised the use of technology by the Independent National Electoral Commission, or INEC, to improve the electoral process and boost confidence.

He said that technology has made it harder to rig elections, and that this would guarantee that the All Progressives Congress, or APC, will win every election.

As stated by Akeredolu: I’m glad that it’s becoming harder and harder for anyone to get INEC to rig the election. I’ve been involved in a lot of elections, and I keep telling people that it’s hard to rig elections.

“Whether we like it or not, INEC has improved its work over time, and I want to congratulate you and the chairman for the good work you are doing, it has become more difficult now.”

Akeredolu praised the departing REC for the fact that the state never held an inconclusive election during his tenure.
