After receiving a UN delegation led by Resident Co-ordinator in Nigeria, Edward Kallon, president Muhammadu Buhari condemned the first suicide bomb attack carried out by the terrorist group in 2011, when a car filled with explosives sped into the building, setting off an explosion that killed 23 UN staff as well as Nigerians.
The president noted that the attack by the terrorists was regrettable and was appreciative of the work carried out by the organization especially since government started reconstruction of the building.
“Thank you for what you have been doing in the country, especially for women and children. I am glad you have put together a dedicated team to work with us.
“I am very impressed with the number of programmes you are carrying out and I hope that our ministers will continue to cooperate with you.”
