The Edo Police Command has paraded six suspects who allegedly was involved in the rape and murder of Uwa Omozuwa.
Uwa until her death in May, was a 100 level Microbiologist student at the University of Benin, and was raped and killed at a church were she had gone to read.
Parading the suspects at the Police headquarters, the State Commissioner of Police Johnson Kokoma, said the police has been on the trail of the suspects since the incident occured.
He added that the suspects will be charged to court after investigations have been concluded.
According to the Edo State Police Command, one of the suspects admitted to have committed the crime and named others he said were culpable.
At least four of the suspects have denied any involvement.
Another suspect was said to have been found in possession of the late Uwa phone.
The mother of a suspect at large was also arrested. She denied any knowledge of the crime.
“These criminals went into the church building to wreak havoc where she was raped,” the Edo State Commissioner of Police, Johnson Kokumo, said. “The post-mortem examination results confirmed that Uwa was raped gruesomely murderer.
