Npower Batch C1 Ended, Humanitarian Affairs Ministry insists
The Ministry has also dismissed all social media posts claiming that the Batch C1 Npower Programme has been extended as false.
The Npower Programme Management has reiterated that the Batch C1 Npower Programme has concluded after its 1-year duration. This announcement comes after the programme paid a 13th month stipend to the beneficiaries, which led to a misconception of the programme’s benevolence.
Under the Batch C Npower Programme’s design, each stream spends 12 months in the programme. The Batch C1 beneficiaries, who began in September 2021, completed their 1-year programme duration in August 2022.
In February 2023, while commencing the payment of N30,000 stipend to the 490,000 Batch C2 Npower beneficiaries, the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development also paid the September stipend to the 510,000 Batch C1 Npower beneficiaries.
Upon receiving this unexpected credit alert, the Batch C1 beneficiaries speculated whether it signified an extension of the Batch C1 Npower Programme’s duration.
However, the Ministry clarified in a statement on Friday that Minister Sadiya Umah Farouk approved a one-month stipend payment to the Batch C1 Npower beneficiaries out of her magnanimity. The Ministry emphasized that the Batch C1 beneficiaries had completed their one-year programme and that the payment was not an extension of the programme.
The Ministry further described all Social Media Posts claiming that the Batch C1 Npower Programe has been extended as Fake.
