JAMB Cut Off Mark For Nursing Science 2023/2024

 

Nursing is a competitive course in Nigeria with over 20,000 students applying to study it every year. However, only about 3,000 of these students gain admission to the 57 universities that offer Nursing in Nigeria. Meeting up with the required JAMB Cut off Mark is a prerequisite to studying Nursing in any university in Nigeria. What Is JAMB Cut Off Mark?

JAMB Cut Off Mark is the minimum score JAMB candidates are required to score in JAMB before they can proceed to the next stage of their admission processing, which is the Post UTME enrolment. JAMB Cut Off Mark for Nursing to participate in Post UTME is 200, although some universities such as AAU (Ambrose Alli University) would accept 180. However, the least JAMB score any university (except private universities) would accept for Nursing is 180. Polytechnics do not offer Nursing, but if they did, they would have accepted a lower JAMB score for Nursing.

JAMB Cut Off Mark For Nursing That Guarantees Admission

To study Nursing in any university in Nigeria, candidates need a good JAMB score that guarantees admission. A JAMB score of 270 and above is a good score to study Nursing in any university in Nigeria. With 270 and above as your JAMB score, your chances of being admitted to study Nursing in any university of your choice is around 70%.

How To Calculate Your Aggregate Score For Nursing

Different universities in Nigeria use different methods to compute students’ aggregate scores for admission into the department of Nursing Science. While some universities use both JAMB and Post UTME (like the University of Benin), some use JAMB and O’ level (University of AAU), while others use JAMB, Post UTME, and O’ level. Candidates should find out the aggregate grading system of the university they are applying to.

In Conclusion

The JAMB Cut Off Mark for Nursing in Nigeria is 200, although some universities would accept 180. However, a JAMB score of 270 and above guarantees a higher chance of admission to study Nursing in any university in Nigeria.
