According to an exclusive report by The Sun UK, the number of Nigerian students bringing over their relatives has risen significantly, reaching 59,053 students who brought more than 60,923 relatives, surpassing the figures from 2019. Due to these alarming statistics, the UK is preparing to make announcements that will impact Nigerian students pursuing their Master’s degrees in the country. However, it’s important to note that these decisions will not solely affect Nigerian students, but also students from other nations.

Under the new UK immigration policy, all master’s students and many other postgraduate students will be prohibited from bringing their families with them.

This move aligns with reports indicating that net migration into the UK has risen to 1 million, leading Tory MPs to urge the Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak, to take control of the escalating numbers.
