President Bola Tinubu Sacks All Service Chiefs, Announces Replacements [Full List]

President Tinubu has retired all Service Chiefs and made new appointments in Nigeria. The decision was announced by the Director of Information on behalf of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation. Read the press release for the full list of appointments and positions.

PRESIDENT TINUBU RETIRES ALL SERVICE CHIEFS, ADVISERS, COMPTROLLER GENERAL OF CUSTOMS, APPOINTS NEW ONES

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, has taken the decision to remove all Service Chiefs, the Inspector-General of Police, Advisers, and the Comptroller-General of Customs from their positions with immediate effect. The announcement was made by Willie Bassey, the Director of Information, on behalf of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume.

The retirement of the current officials is effective immediately, and President Tinubu has appointed new individuals to assume these important roles. The list of newly appointed officers is as follows:

  1. Mallam Nuhu Ribadu – National Security Adviser
  2. Maj. Gen. C.G Musa – Chief of Defence Staff
  3. Maj. T. A Lagbaja – Chief of Army Staff
  4. Rear Admiral E. A Ogalla – Chief of Naval Staff
  5. AVM H.B Abubakar – Chief of Air Staff
  6. DIG Kayode Egbetokun – Acting Inspector-General of Police
  7. Maj. Gen. EPA Undiandeye – Chief of Defense Intelligence

In addition to the above appointments, President Tinubu has approved several other key positions:

  • Col. Adebisi Onasanya – Brigade of Guards Commander
  • Lt. Col. Moshood Abiodun Yusuf – 7 Guards Battalion, Asokoro, Abuja
  • Lt. Col. Auwalu Baba Inuwa – 177, Guards Battalion, Keffi, Nasarawa State
  • Lt. Col. Mohammed J. Abdulkarim – 102 Guards Battalion, Suleja, Niger
  • Lt. Col. Olumide A. Akingbesote – 176 Guards Battalion, Gwagwalada, Abuja

Furthermore, the President has appointed the following military officers within the Presidential Villa:

  • Maj. Isa Farouk Audu – Commanding Officer, State House Artillery
  • Capt. Kazeem Olalekan Sunmonu – Second-in-Command, State House Artillery
  • Maj. Kamaru Koyejo Hamzat – Commanding Officer, State House Military Intelligence
  • Maj. TS Adeola – Commanding Officer, State House Armament
  • Lt. A. Aminu – Second-in-Command, State House Armament

In addition to the military appointments, President Tinubu has approved the appointment of two Special Advisers and two Senior Assistants:

  • Hadiza Bala Usman – Special Adviser, Policy Coordination
  • Hannatu Musa Musawa – Special Adviser, Culture and Entertainment Economy
  • Sen. Abdullahi Abubakar Gumel – Senior Special Assistant, National Assembly Matters (Senate)
  • Hon. (Barr) Olarewaju Kunle Ibrahim – Senior Special Assistant, National Assembly Matters (House of Representatives)

Lastly, Adeniyi Bashir Adewale has been appointed as the Acting Comptroller General of Customs.

It is important to note that the newly appointed Service Chiefs, the Inspector-General of Police, and the Comptroller General of Customs will assume their roles on an acting basis until their confirmation, in accordance with the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
