Naira slides to N769/$ at I&E window as FX turnover surges by 7%
On Friday, the Nigerian naira experienced a significant drop, reaching a rate of N769.25 to the US dollar at the investors and exporters (I&E) window. This marked a decrease of 0.82 percent compared to its exchange rate of N763 on Tuesday.
According to data from the FMDQ Securities Exchange, the naira began the day at N758.56 but depreciated throughout the day, eventually closing at N769.25 against the greenback.
During the course of the day, the local currency reached an intra-day low of N461.50 and a high of N841 against the US dollar.
