An abandoned newly born baby girl was found by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC in the Hadejia Local Government Area of Jigawa State.
GoldenNewsNg reports that the NSCDC spokesman, CSC Adamu Shehu, confirmed this in a statement issued to newsmen.
He said the newborn baby girl was discovered on Sunday at Kandahar B Quarters in Hadejia.
Adamu explained that the baby was discovered in an uncompleted building early on Sunday.
” NSCDC received a report from one Zakar Mohd after hearing the baby crying when he returned from the mosque in the morning.
“On reaching the scene, the baby was taken to the General Hospital Hadejia for medical attention and was certified healthy by a medical doctor,” Shehu said.
The NSCDC spokesman said the baby was handed over to officials of the Social Welfare Department, Hadejia LGA, for proper care.
He said NSCDC had launched an investigation to identify and arrest the baby’s mother.
