Titan Submarine Passengers have been confirmed dead.
According to a report from Newsone, officials have disclosed that the Titan submersible suffered a devastating collapse while descending to explore the Titanic wreckage, resulting in the loss of all five passengers on board. The US Coast Guard, as per information obtained by this online news platform, announced on June 22, 2023, that various fragments of the Titan were discovered in a scattered formation around 1600 feet away from the Titanic’s bow, resting on the seabed.
The individuals aboard the Titan were OceanGate Expeditions founder and CEO Stockton Rush, British billionaire Hamish Harding, renowned French diver Paul-Henri Nargeolet, Pakistani businessman Shahzada Dawood, and his 19-year-old son Suleman. OceanGate Inc expressed their condolences in a statement, stating, “During this tragic time, our thoughts are with these five individuals and their families. We mourn the loss of their lives and the happiness they brought to everyone who knew them.”
“These men exemplified true explorers, sharing a unique spirit of adventure and a profound dedication to the exploration and preservation of our world’s oceans.” The exact time and location of the Titan’s implosion remain uncertain; however, the Coast Guard noted that sonar buoys might have detected the event had they been in place.
The Titan began its descent on Sunday morning but lost communication with its surface vessel approximately one hour and forty-five minutes into the submersion.
