Apply for the FG and Amazon Web Services Digital Skills Program for Nigerians.

GoldenNewsNg reports that the Federal Ministry of Education, under the leadership of Honourable Minister Dr. Maruf Olatunji Alausa, has announced a strategic partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS) Academy to launch a national digital skills initiative aimed at Nigerian educators and students.

Aligned with the Renewed Hope Agenda and the Nigeria Education Sector Renewal Initiative (NESRI), the programme is designed to build 21st-century competencies in cloud computing, machine learning, and other emerging technologies. Dr. Alausa described the collaboration as “timely and transformative,” noting that it positions Nigerian graduates and lecturers for global relevance in the digital economy.

Programme Rollout and Institutional Participation

The pilot phase of the programme has already onboarded coordinators from 43 federal universities and polytechnics. The initiative is now being expanded to include all federal, state, and private tertiary institutions, including universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education.

Heads of institutions are encouraged to nominate programme coordinators who will oversee the enrollment of lecturers and facilitate student participation.

Free Certification for Participants

To ensure broad and equitable access, the Ministry will cover 50% of the AWS certification costs, with AWS sponsoring the remaining 50%. This means all participants, students and lecturers, will receive completely free certification in globally recognized digital skills.

How to Apply
