Globethics, in its commitment to promoting ethical leadership for a just, inclusive, and sustainable world, announces the launch of the first Globethics Youth Leadership Award in its 20th Anniversary year.
This award aims to advance the vision for the next 20 years by recognizing, honoring, and empowering young leaders worldwide who are dedicated to fostering positive, ethical change in their communities, institutions, societies, nations, regions, or globally.
About the Award
The Globethics Youth Leadership Award seeks to celebrate young leaders who have initiated and executed initiatives that have demonstrated tangible, proven societal impact and positive transformation in areas aligned with one or more of the following Globethics priorities:
- Priority 1: Ethics and Standards in Higher Education.
- Priority 2: Ethics of Sustainability and Environmental Justice.
- Priority 3: Ethics of Digital and Emerging Technologies.
- Priority 4: Ethics of Inclusive Peace and Responsible Governance.
The Awards
Winners of the Globethics Youth Leadership Award will not only gain recognition for their groundbreaking work but will also receive financial and mentoring support to scale up and expand the reach of their projects. The awards include:
- 1st prize: USD $15,000
- 2nd prize: USD $10,000
- 3rd prize: USD $5,000
Additionally, the three finalists will have the opportunity to present their initiatives at the Global Ethics Forum in Geneva, Switzerland, scheduled from 2nd to 4th September 2024.
Furthermore, all winners will benefit from the guidance of a mentor for a period of nine months.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must be individuals or part of a group, aged between 18 and 30 years old at the time of application deadline, and can be from any part of the world.
- In the case of a group application, a designated representative will submit the application and may present on behalf of the group.
- Applicants must be the creators and implementers of their initiatives.
Selection Criteria
The jury will evaluate applicants based on the following criteria:
- Contribution to achieving one or more of the Globethics priorities.
- Demonstrated impact and positive change resulting from the initiative.
- Innovation in problem-solving.
- Inclusive approach to addressing societal challenges.
- Scalability and replicability of the initiative.
