The Tony Elumelu Foundation is now accepting applications for the 2024 Tony Elumelu Foundation Entrepreneurship Programme (TEEP). This intervention, prioritizing the economic recovery of small and medium-scale enterprises (SMEs) and young African entrepreneurs, aims to counter the disruptions caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Celebrating its tenth year of impact in 2020, the Tony Elumelu Foundation continues to empower a new generation of African entrepreneurs through the TEF Entrepreneurship Programme. Successful applicants are set to receive world-class business training, mentorship, non-refundable seed capital of up to $5,000, and global networking opportunities. The programme is open to entrepreneurs across Africa, encompassing both new start-ups and existing young businesses operating in any sector.
Eligibility:
- The Entrepreneurship Programme targets outstanding African entrepreneurs with startups or business ideas demonstrating growth potential.
- Eligible Countries: African countries.

- Training & Mentorship Phase:
- Rigorous business training and mentoring sessions.
- Virtual orientation program.
- Access to peer-to-peer support groups.
- Multiple choice questions to track performance.
- Business Plan Submission Phase:
- Entrepreneurs combine learnings into a cohesive document.
- Use provided business & financial plan template.
- Successful candidates move on to the next stage: Pitching Competition.
- Pitching Phase:
- Entrepreneurs pitch ideas before a panel of judges.
- Successful candidates receive seed capital funding and access to the Alumni network.
- Unsuccessful participants receive a training completion certificate and can reapply next year.
- Seed Capital Phase:
- Successful entrepreneurs open business accounts to receive seed capital.
- Entrepreneurs eligible for seed funding receive a Certificate of Completion and Achievement from the Foundation.
