Motolani Alake, the Nigerian music critic and culture journalist has stated in confidence that Afrobeats sensation, Ahmed Ololade aka Asake will bag a Grammy nomination in 2023.
GoldenNewsNg reports that He stated during Pulse Facts Only podcast that Asake is set to be nominated for an award in the Best Global Album category.
Alake said he will be surprised if Asake does not get a nomination next year because the YBNL signee had an exceptional year.
He, however said that the ‘Peace Be Unto You crooner’ might not win, but he strongly believes his name will make the nominees list.
The podcaster said the fact that Asake’s debut album, Mr Money With The Vibe has sold 100,000 copies in America within two months is a big deal which will not be overlooked.
Alake also said that Burna Boy being on the album is a booster which will increase the chances of the Recording Academy choosing it.
