The 2023 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has revealed the details of the party’s stakeholders’ meeting in Abuja.
Goldennewsng earlier reported that some chieftains and eminent PDP leaders met at the lodge of the Bauchi State Governor in Asokoro, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Some party leaders at the meeting included the Chairman of the PDP Governors Forum and Bauchi Governor, Bala Mohammed; Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa, Godwin Obaseki of Edo State, Douye Diri of Bayelsa State, Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State, Ademola Adeleke of Osun State, and Kefas Agbu of Taraba State, among others.
The meeting is coming on the heels of a similar one which was held a fortnight ago at the Abuja residence of the former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Tom Ikimi.
In a tweet via his verified Twitter handle on Saturday, Atiku said the meeting provided an opportunity for party stalwarts to examine the current state of the nation carefully.
The former Vice President added that the meeting allowed leaders of the party to thoughtfully articulate a pathway forward from the critical crossroads at which they presently find themselves.
Atiku disclosed he joined some PDP leaders at the meeting, which included his running mate and the immediate past Governor of Delta State, Ifeanyi Okowa, PDP Governors, and members of the National Working Committee (NWC).
He wrote: “Earlier today, I joined other leaders and stakeholders of our esteemed party, @OfficialPDPNig, including my Vice Presidential candidate, Dr @IAOkowa, Governors, and members of the PDP NWC.
“This meeting provided an opportunity for us to examine the current state of our nation carefully and to thoughtfully articulate a pathway forward from the critical crossroads at which we presently find ourselves.”
