…says 20 level-2 PHC centres will be ready in few weeks
Special Adviser to Niger state Governor on Digital Media and Strategy, Abdulberqy Usman Ebbo has reiterated the government’s readiness in ensuring the successful realization of the ‘New Niger’ Agenda with the construction of 100 units of Level 2 Primary Health Care facilities across the state.
The projects which run simultaneously according to the Governor’s Aide are ongoing without hitches.
It could be recalled that on June 2024, Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago performed the ground-breaking for the construction of Level 2 primary healthcare centres in Minna.
According to a statement, Ebbo said the Governor had announced that about 20 of these centres are to commence immediately while others will take place subsequently.
However, he disclosed that two facilities located at Maitumbi FM in Bosso LGA and Old Orphanage, Nasarawa C in Chanchaga LGA could not start as a result of little technical issues.
Ebbo pointed out that the Level 2 Primary Healthcare Centres will be situated across the 25 local governments of the state so that people can access quality healthcare services within their communities without having to travel far.
According to him, the centres will be equipped with modern facilities such as modern beds, maternity equipment, computers and 24 hour solar power system among others to ensure effective and efficient service delivery to the people.
He maintained that out of the 100 level-2 primary healthcare centres to be constructed about 20 is set to be completed in the next few weeks.
“The present administration under the leadership of governor Mohammed Umar Bago has prioritized the health sector to enhance better health care services in the state”, he disclosed.
The ongoing projects are; Chanchaga – Old Airport, Tunga Bay Clinic Road and Kpakungu while Kontagora has Commercial School and Kawo Ward.
