Probably inspired by the charitable activities of many celebrities in Nigeria such as Tonto Dikeh among others, Banky W founded a food bank to cater for the needs of poor Nigerians in Lekki, Lagos state where he resides.
Unlike many celebrities that have flooded social media with their charitable activities, Bank W has focused on making his food bank to work as effectively as it should and reach the poorest of the poor in the area without making so much noise about it. He has gotten enough support from his fans on social media that have been sending donations to his food bank account.
The importance of the charitable activities of Nigerian celebrities especially in this difficult period cannot be ignored since the government has failed to reach as many people as expected with their palliatives.
It is not certain when the covid19 crises will be over but it is certain that celebrities that take care of the people in this difficult period will not be forgotten when things return to normal.
