Barr Olumide Akpata and Running Mate Return to Warm Welcome After UK Tour
The candidate of the Labour Party for Edo state Governorship election come 2024, Barrister Olumide Akpata and his running mate Alhaji Yusuf Asamah Kadiri were today received amidst pomp and pageantry at the Benin local airport after their successful visit to the United kingdom. The airport was filled with funfair as mammoth crowd of party supporters and notable party chieftains thronged to welcome them.
The euphoric reception which had in attendance ward chairmen and party leaders from across the local governments of Edo State is a true reflection of the wide acceptance for Barr Olumide Akpata’s candidature. This warm embrace further beams light on the increasing strength behind Bar Akpata’s leadership bid with Kadiri as his Deputy Governorship candidate.
On arrival, Barrister Akpata addressed the gathering restating that Labour Party would give more attention to areas affecting Edo State most Rotimi Akeredolu highest number of defenders – security; ease of doing business among others. He said that these places should be accorded necessary intervention so as to foster growth and development based on this party’s stand point.
While in the UK, they met with different Nigerians living abroad but are indigenes of Edo state. These meetings were aimed at tapping into their wealth of experience on how best governance can be delivered in our dear state knowing fully well that charity begins from home which is why we have come back here today he added. The visits afforded an opportunity for Mr Akpata who spoke about what he intends doing when elected Governor including listening to views expressed by members representing Nigeria more especially those hailing from Edo community overseas.
