BATNF Opens 2025 Grant Applications for Young Agripreneurs, including NYSC Members, apply following the guidelines below.. 

 

GoldenNewsNg reports that the British American Tobacco Nigeria Foundation (BATNF) has opened applications for the 2025 edition of its Farmers for the Future (F4F) Grant, a flagship initiative designed to empower young Nigerians, including members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), with the funding, training, and mentorship needed to launch and scale sustainable agribusiness ventures.

Applications opened on July 7 and will close on July 20, 2025. To apply, interested individuals must download the BATNF Mobile App, available on both the Google Play Store and Apple App Store, and complete the application process through the app.

Up to ₦10 Million in Equity Funding

Now in its sixth year, the F4F programme offers up to ₦10 million in equity funding to selected winners. Alongside financial support, beneficiaries will also gain:

  • A spot in a structured business accelerator bootcamp

  • One year of tailored mentorship

  • Access to a growing national network of agribusiness innovators

Building Youth-Led Agribusinesses for National Impact

According to the General Manager of BATNF, the programme is about more than just funding. It’s a platform to build impact-driven agribusinesses led by young Nigerians who are passionate about transforming the agricultural sector.

“Farmers for the Future is more than a grant. It’s a pathway to building youth-led businesses that shape communities and contribute meaningfully to national development.”

Track Record of Success

BATNF highlighted the achievements of past grant recipients who have grown from small-scale operations to fully structured agribusinesses. Many are now contributing to local food systems, reducing unemployment, and driving innovation in climate-smart agriculture and post-harvest management.

What’s Included in the Programme

In addition to funding, the programme provides participants with:

  • Business and financial literacy training

  • Climate-smart agricultural practices

  • Strategies to reduce post-harvest losses

  • Support to improve market access and competitiveness

Who Can Apply

The grant is open to:

  • Young Nigerians with a clear and viable agribusiness idea

  • Current NYSC members

  • Early-stage agri-entrepreneurs ready to grow

Applicants must demonstrate passion, innovation, and a commitment to agriculture as a driver of transformation in Nigeria.

“We are looking for young Nigerians who are not just passionate about farming, but ready to lead the sector into the future with fresh thinking and sustainable practices,” the Foundation said.

Deadline to Apply: July 20, 2025

All applications must be completed via the BATNF Mobile App before July 20, 2025.

1. Submit Your Application

The online application portal will be available for you to send in your applications

2. Virtual Bootcamp

20 Selected businesses will go through a rigorous virtual bootcamp where they will refine their business thesis and build a compelling pitch.

3. Pitch Event & Award

The top 10 businesses from the bootcamp will pitch before a panel of expert judges and investors. 3 winners will be selected.

4. Mentorship

The 3 Winners will be given financing to execute, strengthen, advance, and scale their businesses under the guidance of seasoned mentors. They will also be connected to the relevant networks they require to make progress

5. Join The Farmers For The Future Alumni

Continue to enjoy exclusive access to expert mentorship, insider opportunities, and a robust support network that will open doors to follow-on financing, new markets, etc.

Benefits

Access to Finance:

The top 6 finalists will win an equity-free grant of NGN 10 million (3million for the first Prize, 2 million for 2nd Prize, and million for 3rd Prize)

Linkage to financial institutions and investors for follow-on financing and/or credit facilities

Winners will get technical support to establish their agribusiness

  • Participation in an intensive “Think-through-your-business” boot camp
  • Mentorship under seasoned entrepreneurs and Agric Expert.

Eyewitnesses said Lintex first tampered with the gas cylinder line outside the apartment, allegedly trying to cause an explosion. When that failed, he forced his way inside and stabbed Deborah multiple times with a knife he brought along. Alarmed neighbours rushed to the scene and alerted the police. The suspect was subdued and handed over to law enforcement officers. Police authorities have confirmed the incident, stating that investigations are ongoing. Deborah’s tragic death has sparked outrage online and renewed calls for stronger legal protections for women against abusive and obsessive partners.
