Mercy Eke, a former Big Brother Naija winner, has said that the romantic relationships on the show are a con and a plan.
Goldennewsng reports that during an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, the first female winner said this as she explained why she was still in a relationship with her ex, Ike Onyema.
Keep in mind that Mercy and Ike were a couple on the show, but their relationship ended after the show, leaving many fans disappointed.
Mercy mentioned that she wouldn’t have pursued a relationship with Ike if she had known how many fans she had.
The reality television star stated that she could not leave Ike because of the money, even when their relationship was not working out.
Relationships in BBNaija are the biggest scam. At first, it struck me as novel. In fact, I wouldn’t have bothered getting involved with Ike if I had known that I was a strong housemate and that people loved me for who I was.
“I wouldn’t say it was a strategy; for me, we went along with it; however, even when we weren’t happy, we had to put on a show for people with whom we were not even in a relationship. You move on if things don’t work out, but in my case, I couldn’t because I needed to be there for money or I wouldn’t have the money.
