Master of Science (M.Sc)
A. COLLEGE OF NATURAL AND APPLIED SCIENCES
DEPARTMENT OF BIOLOGICAL SCIENCES
– M.Sc Microbiology

Admission Requirements:
- Candidates must satisfy the O’ Level requirements for matriculation into first degree programmes of the University i.e. Five (5) Credit passes at not more than two sittings including English Language and Mathematics.
- Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree from Bells University of Technology, or any other approved University, with a minimum of Second Class lower division in relevant fields.
- Candidates with a Third class degree or HND (Upper Credit) plus University PGD in relevant subject may also be considered for admission.
DEPARTMENT OF CHEMICAL, FOOD AND NUTRITION SCIENCES

Admission Requirements:
- Candidates must satisfy the O’ Level requirements for matriculation into first degree programmes of the University i.e. Five (5) Credit passes at not more than two sittings including English Language and Mathematics.
- Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree from Bells University of Technology, or any other approved University, with a minimum of Second Class lower division in relevant fields.
- Candidates with a Third class degree plus University PGD in relevant subject may be considered for admission.
- In addition, Candidates with a Third Class Degree from Bells University of Technology, or any other approved University with 2 years (24 months) logged internship with a NIA/ARCON Registered Architect may also be considered for admission.
C. COLLEGE OF MANAGEMENT SCIENCES

Admission Requirements for M.Sc Programmes:
- Candidates must satisfy the O’ Level requirements for matriculation into first degree programmes of the University i.e. Five (5) Credit passes at not more than two sittings including English Language and Mathematics.
- Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree from Bells University of Technology, or any other approved University, with a minimum of Second Class lower division in relevant fields.
- Candidates with a Third class degree (in relevant fields) and University Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) degree (in relevant fields) from a recognized Institution with not less than Upper credit may be considered.
- For M.Sc. Transport Management, candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Management Sciences, Transport Management, Aviation Technology, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Geography and Engineering.
Masters in Business Administration (M.B.A)
Admission Requirement
- Candidates must satisfy the O’ Level requirements for matriculation into first degree programmes of the University i.e. Five (5) Credit passes at not more than two sittings including English Language and Mathematics.
- Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree from Bells University of Technology, or any other approved University, with a minimum of Second Class lower division in relevant fields.
- Graduates of Bells University of Technology, Ota or any other recognized University with Third class degree and Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) in Management related discipline
OR
- Holders of HND plus Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) in Management, Finance and Administration disciplines (of Bells University of Technology or of other recognized Universities) are eligible for admission or HND in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance and Management related disciplines with relevant professional qualifications like ACA, ACIS, ACCA, NIM, e.t.c.
- All applicants must have a minimum of one year work experience, preferably in a managerial or administrative capacity.
- Satisfactory performance at Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) administered by the Bells University of Technology, Ota is mandatory for all applicants.

Holders of HND in relevant programmes from approved institutions with a minimum of Lower Credit may also be considered for admission.

- Candidates with a Bachelor degree from Bells University of Technology, or any other approved University, with a minimum of Third Class degree in relevant discipline.
- Holders of HND in relevant programmes from approved institutions with a minimum of Upper Credit may also be considered for admission.
- M.Sc and Postgraduate Diploma candidates may be required to satisfy the requirements of relevant Department in a selection process.
- In addition, candidates will be required to satisfy other requirements of the Postgraduate School.

Admission Requirements for PhD Programmes:
- Candidates must satisfy the ‘O’ Level requirements for matriculation into first degree programmes of the University i.e. Five (5) Credit passes at not more than two sittings including English Language and Mathematics.
For PhD Architecture, Candidates must possess:
- A Master’s degree by course work in Architecture or any other relevant field (Housing, Architectural Science, Landscape Architecture, Urban Design etc.) with a weighted score not lower than 60% or CGPA of 3.5 and thesis score not lower than 60% or
- An M.Phil degree in Architecture. Candidates with M.Phil, M. Arch., M.E.D or M.Sc. (Arch) professional degree or equivalent from a recognized University with 60% overall score.
- Candidates must present a research proposal along with the application form for evaluation. A candidate with M.Phil. degree will be allowed to transfer to PhD if he/she fulfils the following requirements:
- Completes all course work with a CGPA of not less than 3.50 in the programme;
- Submits to the Postgraduate School, a research plan considered suitable for pursuing a Ph.D degree in Architecture.
For PhD Building Services, Candidates must possess:
- A Master’s degree from Bells University of Technology, or any other approved University in relevant discipline, with a weighted average of 60% and above
- M.Phil. pass degree from Bells University of Technology, or any other approved University.
- The PhD Building Services programme is offered as 100% research programme. Candidates will be required to solve industry relevant problems by carrying out original research work.
For PhD Project Management, Candidates must possess:
- A Master’s degree from Bells University of Technology or any other approved University with a Weighted Average of not less than 60% or an M.Phil. in Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Management, Project Management and Construction Management Technology from a recognized University.
For PhD Electrical /Electronics Engineering, Candidates must possess:
- A Master’s degree from Bells University of Technology, or any other approved University in relevant discipline, with a weighted average of 60% and above;
- Phil pass degree from Bells University or any other approved University.
For PhD Mechanical Engineering, Candidates must possess:
- A Master’s degree from Bells University of Technology, or any other approved University in relevant discipline, with a weighted average of 60% and above
- M.Phil. pass degree from Bells University of Technology, or any other approved University
For PhD Estate Management, Candidates must possess:
- An M.Tech. degree of Bells University of Technology, Ota, in Estate Management or equivalent degree from any other approved University with an overall CGPA of 3.5.
For PhD Biotechnology, Candidates must possess:
- A Master’s degree in the field of Biological Sciences with a weighted average not lower than 60%. Candidates with an M.Phil. Degree in relevant field will also be considered for admission. Candidates with M.Phil/PhD grade masters result will be requested to write PhD conversion examinations. Candidates with M.Sc. certificate with M.Phil/PhD grade will be requested to take some courses before proceeding to Industrial Biotechnology
Duration of Programmes:
- M.Sc: Generally, M.Sc programmes will run for a minimum period of three (3) semesters; whilst Architecture and MBA programmes will run for a minimum period of four (4) semesters.
- Postgraduate Diploma programmes will run for a minimum period of two (2) semesters.
