It is a summarized version of your application and on the basis of this letter, the committee decides if the candidate deserves it or not. Thousands of applications and students apply for a single scholarship, but very few of them go through it. Your selection will be on the basis of documents, and motivation letters, cover letters.

I have started preparing little guides on those important topics. Where students mostly bachelor and master students feel highly un-confident about them. I tried to do good research on writing such letters, before starting right away. You will learn certain key factors to keep in mind while writing. I am sure, if anyone who follows this pattern, will understand and learn that writing a comprehensive motivation letter is not a difficult thing.

Tips for Motivation Letter for Scholarship Application

My most important TIP #1 here is to give yourself a lot of time before writing the letter. You must be thinking how is this going to improve your motivation letter? Believe me, it actually works very well. You just have to play with your mind.

To Whom and by Who Motivation Letter can be Written?

Generally, You will write a motivation letter to the Scholarship Committee or to those who will review your scholarship application. A Motivation letter is required from the applicant in which he/she defines their interest in a course, degree program, university, or scholarship and how it will give benefit them.

Nowadays competition is going very tough so a motivation letter for a scholarship has become a mandatory document. If you are applying for an Undergraduate, or Graduate degree program in any foreign country.

Eye Catching Motivation Letter

An eye-catching and effective motivation is a successful motivation letter. This letter is the second most important part of your application. You need to work hard on this. Make yourself a big note on a paper, and write down these questions?

  1. Have you gone through the research interests of the professor?
  2. Have you tried to link your CV with your profile?
  3. Why did you choose that specific country/university/department?
  4. Why should he choose only you out of thousands of others applying in this program?
  5. Are you ready to sacrifice your comfort zone for the stated position?
  6. If yes, then how?
  7. What benefit would the person get, after your selection?
  8. What will you do after your selection?

Context of a Motivation Letter

  1. Title of Motivation Letter
  2. Introduction (not more than 3 lines)
  3. The story behind your achievements
  4. A Paragraph showing your interest and motivation
  5. Why you are a potential candidate?
  6. Ending paragraph

How Many Words for a Motivation Letter?

The ideal length for a motivation letter is around 500-700 words. Dont make it too long and unnecessary. Write it accordingly and easily understandable for the Scholarship committee. The main purpose is that what you want to tell them they can understand your story.

Dedication to Your Fields

Give them an impression that you are dedicated to your field, and how this scholarship will help you towards your future goals.

First Paragraph of Your Motivation Letter

It will start with your short intro and tell them exactly what they need to know from the very beginning. It’s a good idea to state in short what programme you want to apply to and why. You can develop more on the “why” in the rest of the letter.

Middle Paragraphs

These will be the most important and long paragraphs. Make strong connections between your qualifications and the scholarship you are applying for. Mention specifically how your skills, experience, and qualification match the university and course you’re applying for. Give them the best impression.

Conclusion and Closing Paragraph

Show your gratitude. Express an appreciation for the reader’s consideration of your credentials. It takes time to review a cover letter and resume carefully, so communicate your thanks.

The conclusion paragraph will also be the summary of the above paragraphs. Use a professional sign-off. End with a professional sign-off, such as “Sincerely,” “Thank you,” or “Best regards.” You will find alot of Best Motivation Letter Samples. Google it. If you please share our post.
