Twitter has entered into a global scandal after the twitter account of prominent people such as Joe Biden, Barrack Obama, Elon Musk and Bill Gates had their verified Twitter accounts hacked. Twitter has a policy of verifying the accounts of popular people. is will enable members of the public to be sure that these popular persons actually own the accounts.
Joe Biden is the democratic candidate for the forthcoming United States presidential election, Obama was America’s former president while Elon Musk and Bill Gates are among the richest men in the world.
Their accounts were hacked in the same period by hackers who were said to be Bitcoin businessmen. They demanded donations from followers of these top public figures and an unknown number of people actually sent donations without knowing that the accounts have been hacked.
The hacking scandals now prove that twitter is not as secure as most people think that it is. For many years global leaders use twitter and prefer it over other social networks because it is said to be policy friendly and secure.
On the global scene, hackers from Russia were accused of trying to hack into vaccine research in America and other advanced countries to steal information needed to build vaccines.
Even the United States election that produced President Donald ump was said to have been hacked and manipulated by Russia which greatly opposed the democratic party and its candidate Hilary Clinton.

In Nigeria, cases of hacking are also rampant but it does not make headlines because people just move on hours after their accounts are hacked by creating another one. The low publicity given to their activities makes hacking to be like a hidden pandemic in Nigeria. Most people know close friends or have personally experienced it but they rarely talk about it.
