GoldenNewsNg gathered that the exchange rate between the Naira and the US dollar according to the data posted on the FMDQ Security Exchange where forex is officially traded, showed that the naira opened at N415.42 per dollar on Thursday, January 20th, 2022, after it closed at 416.33 per $1 on Wednesday, January 19th, 2022 which represents a change of 0.07%.

The local currency appreciates as the exchange rate for today opens at N570.00 per $1 at the parallel market otherwise known as the black market, today, Friday, 21st January 2022, in Lagos Nigeria, after it closed N572.00 per $1 on Thursday, 20th January 2022.

Note: The exchange rate changes hourly.… it depends on the volume of dollars available and the Demands. What it means is that…you can buy or sell 1 dollar at ₦570 and the price can change (high or low) within hours.

According to reports reaching us, the Ikeja Parallel market, Dollar opened at N570.00 per $1 at the parallel market also known as the black market, today, Friday, 21st January 2022, after it closed N572.00 per $1 on Thursday 20th January 2022. which represents a total change of $2.

Meanwhile, other reports coming from the Ajah Lekki Parallel market, Naira opened at N569.00 per $1 at the parallel market also known as the black market, today, Friday, 21st January 2022, in Lagos Nigeria, after it closed N571.00 per $1 on Thursday, 20th January 2022. which represents a total change of $2.

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) does not recognize the parallel market, otherwise known as the black market. The apex bank has therefore directed anyone who requires forex to approach their bank, insisting that the I&E window is the only known exchange.
