About the BOI GLOW Initiative

According to the BOI, the GLOW Loan Program forms part of its broader commitment to gender inclusion and financial access for women. The bank emphasized that empowering women is key to national development and sustainable economic growth.

Through its Gender Business Desk, BOI ensures that women’s economic participation is promoted at all levels of its operations. The initiative provides targeted funding, mentorship, and business development support to help bridge the gender financing gap in Nigeria.

“The goal is to empower bold, visionary women entrepreneurs with the resources and opportunities they need to thrive,” the bank said in a statement.

The GLOW program also aims to foster innovation, create jobs, and increase the visibility of women-led businesses across various sectors, including manufacturing, agriculture, retail, fashion, and services.

Loan Features and Benefits

Under the GLOW scheme, beneficiaries will have access to flexible funding options and additional business support services.

Below are the key features of the loan:

  • Micro Enterprises: Up to ₦10 million

  • Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs): Up to ₦50 million

  • Loan Tenor: Maximum of 5 years

  • Interest Rate: 7% per annum

In addition to the financial assistance, BOI will provide mentorship, expert-led training, and business advisory services to ensure long-term success for participants.

This makes GLOW one of the most competitive empowerment programs for women entrepreneurs in Nigeria, combining low-interest funding with strategic capacity development.
