Edo State, Southern Nigeria, has recorded its first Coronavirus case.
GoldenNewsNg reports that the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) confirmed the suspected Coronavirus (COVID-19) case as positive in a statement released on the micro-blogging site, Twitter on Monday, March 23.
GoldenNewsNg understands that the first Coronavirus in Edo brings the number of cases of coronavirus in Nigeria to thirty-five (35) from its initial thirty (30).
Giving an update on the spread of the disease, Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) tweeted: “Three new cases of #COVID19 have been confirmed in Lagos, Nigeria. 2 cases are returning travellers and 1 is a contact of a confirmed case.
“As at 05:28 pm on the 22nd of March, there are 30 confirmed cases of #COVID19 in Nigeria. 2 have been discharged with no deaths,” the tweet added.
