The RENAISSANCE African Energy Company, in collaboration with the NNPC/RENAISSANCE/TotalEnergies/AENR Joint Venture (RENAISSANCE JV), has officially launched the 2025 RENAISSANCE JV University Scholarship for Nigerians. This prestigious scholarship initiative is open to qualified Nigerian undergraduates who meet specific academic and community-based criteria.

As one of the top NNPC scholarships for Nigerians, the program is designed to foster educational excellence and empower Nigerian youth through long-term investment in human capital development.

What is the RENAISSANCE JV University Scholarship for Nigerians?

The RENAISSANCE JV University Scholarship provides annual financial grants to eligible Nigerian undergraduates for the entire duration of their degree program. It targets academically outstanding students and those from oil-producing communities where the RENAISSANCE JV operates.

There are two major categories of the scholarship:

1. National Merit Award (NM)

Open to all qualified Nigerian students across the country.

2. Areas of Operation Merit Award

Restricted to indigenes of Renaissance’s operational areas:

  • Bayelsa State

  • Delta State

  • Imo State

  • Rivers State

This is part of the Joint Venture’s commitment to community development and education equity.

Eligibility Criteria

To apply for the NNPC Scholarship for Nigerians through the RENAISSANCE JV, candidates must:

  • Be Nigerian citizens

  • Be full-time undergraduates currently in 200 level

  • Have gained admission during the 2023/2024 academic session

  • Be enrolled in an accredited university in Nigeria

  • Not be receiving any other scholarship from another oil and gas company

Note: This application is completely free. The RENAISSANCE JV does not charge a fee or work with agents.

Documents Required for Application

Before applying, ensure you have clear, scanned copies (in JPEG format and under 200KB) of the following:

  • Recent passport photograph (white background, max 3 months old)

  • Valid student ID card

  • UTME/DE admission letter

  • JAMB result slip

  • 100-level transcript (2023/2024 academic session)

  • Certificate of State of Origin (showing Local Government)

Additional Documents (for Areas of Operation applicants):

  • Letter from the Paramount Ruler of your community

  • Letter from the CDC/CEC Chairperson

These should be addressed to:
The Manager, Social Performance, Renaissance African Energy Company Limited, Industrial Area, Rumubiakani, Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

How to Apply for the RENAISSANCE JV University Scholarship 2025

Follow these steps to apply for the RENAISSANCE JV University Scholarship for Nigerians:

 

1. All applicants should have valid personal email account and phone number (for consistent communication)

2. All applications must be processed online, via https://candidate.scholastica.ng/schemes/NNPCRAECJV2025

3. Applicants for the Operational Area Awards are required to provide scanned copies of letters of identification (which must be duly stamped and signed) by:

  • The Paramount Ruler of the Community, and
  • The Chairperson of the Community Development Committee or Community Executive Council (CDC or CEC)
  • The letters should be addressed to: The Manager, Social Performance, Renaissance African Energy Company Limited, Industrial Area, Rumubiakani, Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

4. Ensure you have clear scanned copies of the following documents for upload:

a. Passport photograph with white background not more than 3 months old (450px by 450px)

b. School ID card

c. University or JAMB (UTME or D/E) Admission letter

d. JAMB Result

e. 2023/2024 Transcript (100 level Result)

g. Letter of Identification from State (Showing Local Government of Origin)

P/S: Each document attachment to the application must not exceed 200KB, and the image format must be in JPEG

5. Ensure the documents are named according to what they represent to avoid mixing up documents

6. Ensure you attach the appropriate documents when asked to upload

To apply, follow the steps below:

a. Click on “Register” to create an account using your email address.

b. Proceed to your email inbox to activate your account

c. Enter your registered email and password to upload your information.

d. Enter your personal information, educational information, bank account information, other information, and upload required scanned documents.

e. Ensure the name used in applications matches the names on all documentation in the same order.

  • Ensure you view all documents after uploading to eliminate errors during uploading.
  • When asked to upload a photo, upload a passport photograph with a white background.
  • Recheck application information to avoid errors. Click on https://candidate.scholastica.ng/schemes/NNPCRAECJV2025 to return to the application site

You will receive an email and an SMS that confirms your application was successful.

Note:

  • RENAISSANCE and Its Joint Venture partners DO not demand payment from applicants. The application is entirely FREE of charge.
  • RENAISSANCE and its Joint Venture partners DO not assign ‘Representatives’/ ‘Agents’ to assist applicants or facilitate the application process.
  • Applications open on the 20th of June 2025 and close on the 25th of July 2025.
  • Only shortlisted candidates will be invited for the proctored computer-based test.
  • Only successful candidates at each selection stage will be contacted.
  • Applications must be processed ONLY through the Renaissance African Energy Company website.
