Anita and Paul Okoye’s divorce has been granted by an Abuja High Court sitting in Maitama.
Goldennewsng reports that Anita claimed that her primary reasons for seeking a divorce were cheating, separation, being an absent father, fraud, and difficult experiences.
She also asked for a $20,000 monthly payment and several of her husband’s mansions.
Anita had previously claimed in her divorce petition, which was signed by her attorney, Ojonimi Akpe, and Okutepa J.S. at an Abuja High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Maitama, that she contributed N10 million as an agreement with her husband that she would be granted space at the mall he had just finished in Lekki Phase 1, Lagos. This was in exchange for her husband’s permission to build the mall. However, she claimed that Paul Okoye had defrauded her of a deal.
The request peruses to a limited extent, “That I know as a reality that the solicitor established an organization called TannkCo in 2019.
“That the petitioner contributed N10,000,000.00 (Ten Million Naira) for the purchase of the land and the construction of the mall, and that the petitioner and the respondent agreed to build a mall where TannkCo would have its main offices.
“That I am aware as a matter of fact that the respondent violated the agreement and failed to provide TannkCo with a space in the mall upon completion.”
However, Anita made the decision to withdraw the claims and settle because she was allegedly unable to prove all of the claims in her court petition.
As a result, on October 20, 2022, the court awarded the parties joint custody of the children in its judgment.
