Customs has Shortlisted 286,697 Applicants for Online Recruitment Test.
GoldenNewsNg report that the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has announced that 286,697 candidates have been shortlisted for the next stage of its ongoing recruitment exercise.
The recruitment drive, which was first advertised on December 27, 2024, attracted 573,523 applications for 3,927 available positions across the Superintendent, Inspectorate, and Customs Assistant cadres.
Following documentary screening, the NCS confirmed that successful candidates will sit for a Computer-Based Test (CBT) scheduled to run from September 14 to 21, 2025.
According to the Service, the CBT will be conducted entirely online to ensure transparency and accessibility. Shortlisted candidates can write the test from any location with reliable internet access, using only a laptop or desktop computer with a webcam—mobile phones will not be supported.
The test platform includes strict security features:
- Facial verification is required at login, with neat appearance advised for recognition.
- The system is sensitive to noise, movement, and distractions, which could trigger an automatic logout.
- Switching between windows during the test will be flagged as malpractice and may lead to disqualification.
To help candidates prepare, a mandatory pre-test session will be conducted two days before the main exam. Links to both the pre-test and the CBT will be sent directly to shortlisted applicants.
Additionally, candidates applying for the Superintendent Cadre (Level 8) will sit for an extra test as part of the recruitment process.
The NCS stressed that the entire exercise is merit-based and transparent, warning applicants to ignore fake recruitment offers or requests for payment on unofficial platforms.
