On Wikipedia, the well-known Nigerian Afrobeats musician David Adeleke, better known by his stage name Davido, has updated his marital status.
Goldennewsng reports that on Thursday, Davido reportedly concluded his traditional marriage rites with Chioma.
According to Daily Post, the singer’s Wikipedia page now includes information about his new marital status and the name of his wife.
On January 5, the singer finally paid Chioma’s bride price (Umunna) in full at Ezeala Odu, Imo State.
On Thursday, Chioma’s father was seen performing the Umunna and Umuada rites, further confirming their marriage in a video that was trending on social media.
In November of last year, it was previously reported that the singer secretly married Chioma a month after their only son, Ifeanyi Adeleke, passed away.
The report says that the traditional wedding was held at her father’s house, only a few family and friends were there, and no cameras were allowed. Davido was also unable to carry out his Umunna rites because of the tragic events that occurred during their wedding last year. As a result, the Igbo culture believed that he and Chioma were not legally married.
Remember that Davido had promised to marry Chioma in 2023 the year before the tragic incident, but the singer got married very quickly after their son died.
