The Deputy Commissioner of Police, Gbolahan Olugbemi has taken his own life at his residence in Ogbomoso, Oyo State.
Olugbemi, who had traveled from Lagos to Ogbomoso to celebrate Easter, was found lifeless, hanging from the ceiling of his living room on Monday.
His body was found with a noose around his neck at his home on Petros Academy Street, Federal Low-Cost Area.

Olugbemi had been grappling with depression despite his commendable contributions to law enforcement.
He previously served as an Aide De Camp to former Governor Adebayo Alao-Akala from 2006 to 2007.
Efforts to obtain comments from the Police Public Relations Officer of the Oyo State Command were unsuccessful, leaving the community grappling with unanswered questions surrounding Olugbemi’s demise.
