Diego Maradona autopsy result: Cause of death revealed

Diego Maradona autopsy result has been revealed, as the cause of death of the football legend has been made known.

GoldenNewsNg reports that the football icon died on the 25th of November, 2020  in Tigre, Argentina.

Maradona had been recuperating from the removal of a blood clot on the brain.

Cause of Diego Maradona’s death revealed

An autopsy report leaked to the Argentine media, has claimed Diego Maradona died in his sleep after suffering heart failure, according to the Daily Mail.

Maradona’s death comes only two weeks after leaving hospital following surgery to remove a blood clot on his brain.

Medics also detected dilated cardiomyopathy, a medical condition in which the heart muscle becomes weakened and enlarged and cannot pump enough blood to the rest of the body.

Since news of his passing was reported, there has been an outpouring of emotion, with people sending their condolences to his family and sharing their memories of watching him play.

As a crowd of weeping fans gathered outside the presidential palace on Thursday morning, Maradona’s coffin was lifted out of an ambulance and brought into the palace where it will lie in state for three-day national mourning declared by the Argentinian president Alberto Fernandez.

Some fans were also pictured outside the Buenos Aires stadium where Maradona began his career setting up a makeshift shrine to celebrate Argentina’s legendary number 10
