The National Association of Resident Doctor’s NARD has gone on a nationwide indefinite strike to ensure their demands are met.
This comes following federal government failure to meet it’s yearnings in June this year, the union says.
Some of their demands include, increase in pay, better welfare, and adequate facilities.
President of NARD, Aliyu Sokomba, said the strike starts Monday, Sept 7th and suggested that medics treating coronavirus patients would join in the action as well.
“There will be no exemptions. We have arrears of 2014, 2015, and 2016 salary shortfalls that were supposed to have been paid over six years ago, still pending.”
Sokomba added that the strike would only be called off once their demands are met.
