Doyin Okupe, the leader of the Labour Party (LP), maintains that Peter Obi, the presidential candidate, will win the election in 2023.
Goldennewsng reports that Tuesday, the politician responded to ThisDay Election Centre Projections with an analysis.
The projections, according to Okupe, were “false, bogus, and do not represent the actual situation on the ground across the country.”
They were “essentially aimed at misinforming the public,” according to the former presidential aide.
According to Okupe, the calculations failed to account for a number of significant electoral parameters that have been in use in Nigerian politics for more than six decades.
“PO will without a doubt score 25% in at least 24 of the 25 states, including Taraba, Adamawa, and Gombe, and will outnumber all three other states.
He is the one to defeat. Peter Obi will win and lead hugely in the SE (South-East) moderately (70%) remembering all states for the SS (South).
“In Lagos, PO will score at least 40% in the SW (South-West). 25% in Ondo, Ogun, Oyo, and Ekiti.
“Minimum Osun 15% He tweeted, “North-West (Northwest) 40% min in Kaduna and 10% in all six states, primarily due to Igbo residents.”
Okupe, a former member of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), served as the Peter Obi/Yusuf Baba-Ahmed Campaign’s Director General up until recently.
