Dr Chris Ngige Dares Faleke, Says He is Not a Small Boy

The drama that began last week about Legislators facing challenges in the execution of their mandates seems to have continued on Wednesday as a Nigerian minister of labor Chris Ngige had his turn.

Ngige faced the House of Representatives Adhoc committee that was investigating his actions regarding the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF).

Ngige went against the president’s directive that no minister should sack any head of the agency in the country. e not only sacked the management of the NSITF but went ahead to call for probe over misuse of funds.

Big government officials like Chief Godwill Akpabio, Nigeria Niger Delta Minister and the acting Managing director of the Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC.In his case, he created a scene after he verbally attacked Hon Abiodun James Faleke.

He chose to attack Faleke because it was Faleke that raised the issue on the floor of the house of representative. His outburst was a call to Faleke to withdraw from the committee to investigate the matter because he already had prejudice on the matter.

Faleke had criticized him for his actions and called for urgent attention to stop Ngige from taking charge of major sectors of the agency that was affected since top officials were suspended.

Ngige called Faleke “Tinubu’s boy” and warned him that he is not a small boy. he claims to be of the same age and political caliber with Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He took time to list their achievements as former governors, senators and ministers.

He even made fun of Faleke reminding him of his failed deputy governorship and governorship bid. Faleke who was utterly embarrassed at Ngige’s outburst could barely give a strong response as the minister continued to lash at him calling him a Mushin boy from Lagos trying to challenge him a boy from Victoria Island.

From all indication, he may not cooperate with the Adhoc committee until Hon James Abiodun Faleke leaves the committee.
