For over two and a half decades, the APC and PDP have held the reins of power in Edo State. Yet despite their lengthy rule, the people of Edo have little to show for it. From dilapidated roads to failing schools, from unreliable electricity to rampant corruption, the evidence of their incompetence and mismanagement is all around us.

It’s time for a change, and that change can only come with Olumide Osaigbovo Akpata. Akpata represents a new hope for Edo State, a leader with the vision and integrity to tackle the challenges facing our community.  He understands that development must be rooted in education, infrastructure, and economic opportunity.

He knows that true progress requires transparency and accountability, not the cronyism and backroom deals that have become the hallmarks of APC and PDP rule. Akpata’s commitment to education, healthcare, and job creation will transform Edo State, and his dedication to the people of Edo will ensure that every citizen has a chance to thrive.

Here are some facts to back up the claim that the PDP has failed Edo State: Unemployment Rate:

According to the Nigerian Bureau of Statistics, Edo State has one of the highest unemployment rates in the country, with over 46% of the population unemployed as of 2022.

Education: A report by UNESCO found that Edo State has one of the lowest literacy rates in the country, with only 62% of the population able to read and write.

Poverty: According to the National Bureau of Statistics, over 50% of the population of Edo State lives below the poverty line.

Health Care: The PDP has failed to improve access to health care in Edo State. According to the World Health Organization, the state has one of the highest rates of maternal mortality in Nigeria, with an estimated 754 deaths per 100,000 live births.

Infrastructure: The PDP has done little to improve the state’s infrastructure, with many roads in poor condition and a lack of reliable power supply.

Given the overwhelming evidence of the PDP’s failures, it’s clear that Edo State needs a new direction. Olumide Osaigbovo Akpata represents that new direction.

Akpata’s platform is based on a commitment to tackling the issues that matter most to the people of Edo: job creation, education, health care, infrastructure, and the eradication of corruption. With his vision and leadership, Edo State can begin to turn the corner and build a brighter future for all its citizens.
