Eight Children Found Dead Inside Car In Lagos
Three siblings and five other children have been reportedly found dead in a car parked in their neighborhood, at Adelayo Street at Jah-Michael along Badagry Expressway.
GoldenNewsNg gathered that the children were found dead in a parked vehicle owned by a woman named Saliat Kassim. The kids were suspected to have died from excessive heat in the car.
The owner of the vehicle, Mrs. Kassim, whose grandchild was said to be among the victims of the incident is in detention presently.
The Lagos State Police Command while confirming the incident said the children were said to have mistakenly locked themselves in the abandoned car while playing.
CSP Adekunle Ajisebutu, the command’s spokesperson, said the bodies of the deceased children have been recovered and deposited at the Badagry General Hospital’s morgue for autopsy so as to determine the actual cause of death.
“The Commissioner of Police, CP Hakeem Odumosu, has ordered a thorough and speedy investigation into the circumstances surrounding their death. The CP also commiserates with the families of the victims,” he added.
