Apply for the Ekiti State Government Scholarship and Bursary Award 2024 following the guideline below.

 

The Ekiti State Government is offering scholarships and bursary awards for 2024/2025.  Eligible students can apply online from 1st September to 31st October. Continue reading for details on how to apply.

The Ekiti State Government Scholarship and Bursary Award for 2024 is now open for applications.

This opportunity offers financial support to students at all levels of higher education, from undergraduates to postgraduates.

Scholarship Awards Eligibility

To qualify for the Ekiti State Government Scholarship Award, applicants must meet the following conditions:

  • Be in their 2nd year or above in their course of study.
  • Possess a WASSCE/NECO certificate with at least five credits, including English Language and Mathematics, in one sitting.
  • Maintain a minimum CGPA of 4.0 for university students or its equivalent, 3.50 for polytechnics, and 3.50 for NCE students.

For Master’s Degree and Ph.D. candidates, a 2nd Class Upper Division at the undergraduate level is required. Ph.D. applicants must have a distinction in their Master’s Degree. A letter of recommendation from the Head of Department is also necessary.

Physically challenged students in universities, polytechnics, colleges of education, and schools of nursing/midwifery are eligible for the Handicapped Scholarship Award.

Part-time and Sandwich students are not eligible for this award.

Bursary Awards Eligibility

All students in undergraduate programmes, polytechnics, colleges of education, and health institutions are eligible for the Ekiti State Government Bursary Award.

Application Process

Free application forms are available for eligible students. You can collect the forms at the Ekiti State Scholarship Board, located at the New Secretariat, Ado-Ekiti.

 

You can also apply online through the Ekiti State Scholarship Board application portal.

Application Period

The application period starts from 1st September and ends on 31st October, 2024.

Late applications will not be accepted by the board.

Residents of a Lagos estate were left in shock on Thursday night after a young woman, Deborah Porsche, popularly known as Debporsche, was allegedly murdered by her ex-boyfriend, identified simply as Lintex, nearly a year after their breakup. According to reports, Lintex had repeatedly threatened Deborah since their split in August 2024, allegedly vowing: “If I don’t have you, nobody will. If I no marry you, blood go flow.” Deborah’s sister described her as a hardworking interior decorator who had just completed her National Youth Service Corps (NYSC). She further alleged that the deceased endured emotional abuse throughout her relationship with Lintex, which ultimately pushed her to walk away. On the night of the attack, the suspect disguised himself as a dispatch rider in an attempt to infiltrate the estate. Security guards reportedly stopped him at the gate, but he scaled the fence and gained entry to Deborah’s apartment. Eyewitnesses said Lintex first tampered with the gas cylinder line outside the apartment, allegedly trying to cause an explosion. When that failed, he forced his way inside and stabbed Deborah multiple times with a knife he brought along. Alarmed neighbours rushed to the scene and alerted the police. The suspect was subdued and handed over to law enforcement officers. Police authorities have confirmed the incident, stating that investigations are ongoing. Deborah’s tragic death has sparked outrage online and renewed calls for stronger legal protections for women against abusive and obsessive partners.
