Eko University of Medicine and Health Sciences Admission Form 2023, see how to apply and the requirements below. 

Applications are currently being accepted by Eko University of Medicine and Health Sciences from members of the public for the 2023/2024 academic session. Those who are interested can submit their application by completing the online application form. The steps for doing so are listed below..

Eko University of Medicine Admission Requirements

To gain admission to Eko University of Medicine and Health Sciences (EkoUNIMED), candidates can apply through the Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB) for both Direct Entry (200 Level) and UTME (100 Level) programs.

EkoUNIMED’s admission process is open to all eligible candidates, without discrimination based on race, gender, creed, geographical location, or ethnic background.

Courses offered in Eko University of Medicine and Health Sciences

Below are the courses offered at Eko University and their admission requirements:

Available Programs:

Faculty of Clinical Science:

  • Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor Surgery (MBBS) – Duration: 5 or 6 years

Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences:

  • BSc. in Human Anatomy
  • BSc. in Medical Biochemistry
  • BSc. in Human Physiology
  • BSc. in Pharmacology

Duration of Programs: 3 or 4 years.

 

Mandatory Admission Requirements for all candidates

The following are the mandatory admission requirements for all candidates:

a. Candidates must possess a minimum of five (5) credit passes in the SSCE/GCE ‘O’ level through WAEC/NECO (or any equivalent qualification recognized by the University) in English language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. These credits must have been obtained in not more than two (2) sittings for the Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences.

b. Candidates are also required to meet any additional suitability criteria, including attending an interview.

The admission requirements for the Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS)

The admission requirements for the Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) program are as follows:

a. Graduates of Basic Medical Sciences, Nursing Sciences, Physiotherapy, Biological Sciences, Zoology (with at least a second class lower division) from universities recognized by EkoUNIMED; or

b. Possession of GCE A-level/HSC passes in Biology/Zoology, Chemistry, and Physics/Mathematics (with good grades); or

c. Attainment of JUPEB (Joint Universities Preliminary Examination Board) passes in Biology, Chemistry, Physics/Mathematics (with good grades).

 

FACULTY OF BASIC MEDICAL SCIENCES

The admission requirements for the Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences are as follows:

a. Graduates of science programs from universities recognized by the institution (with at least a second class lower division in B.Sc.); or

b. Holders of NCE at credit level, ND and other approved equivalents with at least lower credit in relevant fields.

c. Possession of GCE A-level/HSC passes in Biology/Zoology, Chemistry, and Physics/Mathematics; or

d. Attainment of IJMB (Interim Joint Matriculation Board), JUPEB (Joint Universities Preliminary Examination Board) passes in Biology, Chemistry, Physics/Mathematics, or completion of other foundation programs recognized by the institution.

 

Duration of the program

The program must have a duration of at least one academic session consisting of two semesters, as stipulated by the educational curriculum for the board examination
