#EndSARS: Again, NECO shifts exams
As the #EndSARS Protests get intensified, leading to the closure of schools by some state governments, the National Examinations Council (NECO) has on Wednesday shifted some of its examinations.
The Council in a statement signed by the Head of Information and Public Relations Division, Azeez Sani, lamented that it has been constrained by circumstances beyond its control as a result of the protest.
In the statement, the Council disclosed that “these changes were due to the security challenges, which led to the imposition of curfew and closure of schools by some state governments, in order to safeguard lives and properties.
“In the circumstances , it has become difficult for the us to move examination materials across the country.
“And so, we have to rescheduled the papers meant for Thursday 22 October 2020, Friday 23 October 2020 and Saturday 24 October 2020. The affected papers are now scheduled for 17th, 18th and 19th November 2020.”
While praying that the Examinations continues on Tuesday 27 October 2020 as originally scheduled in the examination time table, the Council assured that the examination time table for the rescheduled papers will be made available subsequently.
